EMT 938 Broadcast Turntable – Mint, Specialist Serviced – R39,000
EMT built the 938 for radio studios: a quartz-locked direct-drive deck that reaches full speed in under half a second and runs 24/7. It was EMT’s last turntable and has the same motor and drive electronics as the 948.
This one is in mint condition. A specialist has just serviced it and replaced every capacitor, so it’s ready for another few decades.
- Quartz-lock direct drive, die-cast 33cm platter
- Built-in EMT phono stage, so it plugs straight into a line input with no separate phono stage needed
- Comes with headshells, one fitted with a Stanton 681EEE (the classic broadcast cartridge)
- Balanced XLR outputs
- Performance to match any high end turntable. This is truly one of the best sounding machines you will ever own.
A 938 in Europe is listed at €3,000–€4,900 (R56,000–R92,000). That’s before you pay to ship a 20kg+ deck and clear import duties and VAT. This one is already serviced and already here.
